We love doors so much that now we want them to have Halloween costumes. At Rustica, a beautiful wood front door or metal front door can already make us stop and look. Add enormous googly eyes or a tiny vampire bow tie, and we're going to need a minute.

This is the kind of decorating that makes Halloween with little ones so much fun. Imagine walking up to a door that's dressed up right along with you. We'd be smiling before anyone even brought out the candy.

7 Doors Dressed Up for Halloween

These homemade door costumes made us want to pull out the craft supplies. Each photo links back to the original post if you find one you want to try.

1. Dracula With a Very Good Bow Tie

A pink door in a Dracula costume? Absolutely yes. The black hair, little fangs, vest, and bright red bow tie turn this entrance into a vampire who looks fully prepared to host the Halloween party. We especially love how much of the door's own color becomes part of the costume.

That bow tie really does make the whole outfit. There's something wonderfully funny about a front door looking more dressed up for the evening than the rest of us.

2. Helga the Pink Feather Monster

Please meet Helga. Between the enormous eyes, blue striped horns, and gloriously fluffy pink mouth, she's got a lot going on, and we support every bit of it. The feather boa gives this monster the sort of over the top personality that makes you smile before you even reach the porch.

Those two big front teeth are our favorite part. She looks like she'd compliment every costume and insist you take another piece of candy.

3. Frankenstein Goes Pink

Frankenstein gets a cheerful pink makeover, complete with a wonderfully uneven haircut. The little black stitches make the costume instantly recognizable, but it's that single tooth beneath the letter slot that has us giggling. Poonam gives the very same door a completely different expression with a few changes to its face.

If your front door's already a fun color, this is such a cute way to let it be part of the costume. Pink Frankenstein is officially welcome at our Halloween party.

4. A Minion in a Mummy Costume

A door wearing a costume of a character wearing another costume is exactly the kind of Halloween commitment we came for. Christine Koh's mummy Minion combines overlapping layers of brown kraft paper with yellow patches and those unmistakable round goggles. That little grin peeking out of the bandages is so good.

The overlapping paper adds so much character, especially around the eyes. You can almost picture this little mummy plotting a candy raid while everyone else is busy taking photos.

5. Two Monsters on One Dutch Door

A Dutch door gives you two halves to dress up, and Skaie Knox at HomeJelly made the most of both. A blue monster sits on the top half, with a purple three eyed friend below. Open the upper half and the two faces go their separate ways. How cute is that?

The purple monster even has a mirrored mouth, so little visitors can see their own costumes while they wait. We love that the door can still do its Dutch door thing with both monsters along for the ride.

6. A Mummy With Room for Two

Erica Fox turned her double front doors into one enormous mummy, with white fabric wrapping across both doors and two yellow eyes peeking out. That's a very big face to find waiting on the porch. We can only imagine the delighted little squeals from the sidewalk.

The arched top gives those bandages a lovely curve to follow. It's such a fun way to work with the shape of the entrance, and the pair of doors makes this mummy feel extra grand.

7. A Very Furry Green Friend

We had to make room for one more monster, especially one with this much fluff. Green furry fabric, foam board, and a blue felt mouth create a wonderfully shaggy face. The texture makes this door feel like it belongs to a friendly creature who's moved onto the porch for October.

And then there are the eyes on those long blue stalks. We'd have a hard time taking this fuzzy little visitor down when November arrives. Maybe he could stay for Thanksgiving?

Your Door Deserves a Costume Too

We can't decide which one we'd want greeting the neighborhood on Halloween night. The vampire has the bow tie, but Helga has those teeth. Picking a favorite might have to wait.

Did your door dress up too? Submit a photo or email us at support@rustica.com with a picture attached. We'd love to see it. Happy Halloween from all of us at Rustica!
