“The creation of this door was Inspired by a cherished childhood memory of placing copper pennies on train tracks lakeside in Seattle with my Grandma. The train would wildly barrel down the tracks and instantly turn my little copper pennies into tiny paper thin keepsakes.

Afterward Grandma and I would pick buckets of wild blackberries and make pie together. I miss her! Before her passing Paul and I took the kids there one summer and Paul drove Lake Sammamish and found an old rusted metal tube on the bottom of the lake that he later painted bright red and turned into a stunning barn door pull on a double barn door system we installed together. “ - Kate Allen

The Penny Rail Sliding Barn Door is an authentic copper clad door made from real copper, bead rolled, and fully wrapped around a wood frame core. This unique door comes with copper rivets added to the seams and the door edges. The round porthole window is a peek into the past.

This door comes standard with a door guide groove pre-manufactured into the base of the door to prevent the door from swinging outward or into the back wall.

Please note that the copper sheeting will darken with age and can be polished as needed. The horizontal seam is not in a "set" place and will depend on the size of the door. It is possible to not have a seam at all or even possible to have a vertical seam.
