As a custom door manufacturer we are happy to match another manufacturer's paint or stain color. We will need to know the manufacturer and the paint/stain code/color. When selecting a stain please understand that the stain color may vary based on the species selected and ageing may impact color as well. Rustica can only be responsible for applying a "standard" amount of the stain chosen on the species selected. We can not guarantee it will match other existing wood products whether they are the same species are not, only that we will apply the stain selected.
Rustica Unassembled Kit Door Guide
1. In some areas of the country we see more damage than acceptable when kit doors are shipped unassembled in a ground shipping box, so it is likely that a kit door may ship in a crate via a freight carrier so that your beautiful door arrives without damage.
2. Doors ordered as kits (regardless of if they are shipped unassembled or assembled) do not have a warranty against warping, separating or splitting.
3. It is possible that your kit door may come unassembled and need to be assembled using the 7 inch lag screws through the side of the stiles.
4. For both Unassembled and Assembled doors... the hardware (hangers, handles and pulls) is not installed and the doors are not pre-drilled which allows every installation the ability to make any unique changes needed.

Yes. Both sides of the door are a sheet of cold rolled steel.
Yes. We use engineered lumber, which is solid lumber, for the stiles and rails which increases the doors strength and reduces warping and twisting. The wood frame can be seen on the edge of the door.
The cold rolled raw steel sheets used for these doors come from the steel mill in a variety of shades from light grey, to bluish tones, to dark grey almost black. Your door may be uniform in color, have streaks or spots with color variances. All of this is normal and natural for cold rolled raw steel sheets. In addition to the color and pattern variances scratches are normal and acceptable. The steel sheet may have lots of color and character or none at all, it is a beautiful industrial door with no set look, just whatever "personality"or lack thereof that a particular steel sheet has. Please review all images for some examples of what your door may look like.

These doors are custom made for you and we have provided lots of pictures and plenty of description to let you know the range of possibilities that you can get with cold rolled steel. We do want you to be happy so we offer the generous return policy.
For both Kit and Assembled doors the hardware (hangers, handles and pulls) are not installed and the doors are not pre-drilled which allows every installation the ability to make any unique changes needed specific to your needs. When selecting handles and pulls it is important to know that there is a solid 5.5in frame all the way around the door. Handles or pulls that require routing out the door can be installed, but the installer will need to cut the steel first before routering out the wood.
Yes, our patented adjustable spacers and header-boards allow the door to be installed over existing door frames.
