Our metal doors are extremely popular. Especially our metal and glass doors. All of our doors are created using the best materials available. We strive to bring you high-quality products that you can’t get anywhere else. One of our most frequently asked questions about our metal doors is if they are hollow or solid steel. One of our expert craftsmen, Carl Cooper answered that for us!

Are Your Metal Doors Solid Steel or Are They Hollow?

All of our metal doors are constructed of steel tube. In result, the door is very durable and also light for ease of installation and can be supported structurally in most applications. Depending on the style of the door, they are also constructed with steel stops that hold glass or wood inside the tube frame and steel sheet metal on either side of the glass to give each door a unique look.
 
Additionally, a select few of our metal doors have a thin steel sheet covering the whole frame, some with added panels for aesthetics and character.

There you have it! Even though we mainly use a steel tube, as a fair warning, these doors are still VERY heavy. When installing one of our metal doors, we always suggest that you grab a buddy. Our metal doors weigh about 50-100 pounds and it always helps an extra set of hands.
