Lay Out the Wall Before Counting Bundles

Measure the wall and mark windows, doors and other interruptions. Decide where a full board should begin and where cut pieces will end. Check both edges of the wall so the final strip is intentional rather than an unexpectedly narrow remainder.

Account for cutting waste based on the layout and board lengths. The products are sold in bundles, so round the calculated requirement to complete bundles after allowing for the planned cuts.

Use the Correct Coverage Dimension

Overall width includes the overlapping edge and is not the same as exposed coverage. The listings provide coverage information for each width family. Use that figure and verify the current dimensions before ordering.

For a nearby wood opening, compare wood sliding doors so grain, finish and line direction can complement the wall without becoming indistinguishable from it.

Coordinate Finish and Attachment Details

Natural boards vary in tone and grain. Review a finish sample and distribute boards deliberately during layout. Confirm the appropriate attachment, substrate preparation and acclimation guidance for the selected wood and installation.

Plan around switches and outlets before covering the wall. Decorative features such as metal light frames can add another layer of geometry, so consider their shadows against the plank joints.
